Perhaps a touch ambitious

Altering a simple duffel bag to utilise some of the mountains of fabric I have lying around seemed like a good idea, but didn't really work as well as I'd hoped.

It's functional to a point, but a bit of a pain and not something thats going to last for ages. Here it is all packed and ready for Seans first sleepover at Nanna and Pa's house this Friday. Its HUGE and fits clothes, nappies, wipes, a bath towel plus manchester for the porta-cot as well as the madatory winter ugg boots! Its not as wonky as it looks, thats just due to how its packed - at least thats my story and I'm sticking to it! I also added one pocket inside for those easy to loose essentials like the dummy (I know, I know, he should be getting out of that by now - but its strictly bed time only so not too bad!)

the challenge I don't participate in...

is the one I finish, albeit a little late.

A trip to spotlight yesterday resulted in lots of new fabric, but after seeing all the lovely eb newbie bags from the challenge one particular fabric caught my eye and screamed "bag" and when a perfect lining fabric was right next to it and it was all 20% off, how could I say no.

I'm still definitely in need of a nappy bag not a handbag so its going into the pool of handmade christmas gifts I'm trying to do this year. I have someone in mind for it so I hope we get to organise the family kris kringle so I can make sure I get her!

Slack slack slack - I'm terrible at posting things on here.

Heres the baby set I made for Baby J the other week. Considering I made the bib freehand I'm pretty happy with it. I attempted another on the other day for one of the girls at work and it didn't quite turn out as well. Its a bit wonky, but I'm just going to maintain that it adds character. Plus with 2 days of work left I don't think I'll have time to try again!

Beanie and cocoon were lent to baby J for some pics and I forgot to get pics first. Perhaps when I get it back I can post one with a real live baby in it!

I'm also making good progress on the pram liners. I just need to add a couple more button holes for the arm straps then its done (except for the foot muff part which I'm thinking is going to be the tough bit) I might have a go at finishing the first one tonight. The third trimester has hit with a vengence and for a multitude of pregnancy related reasons I end up in alot of pain if i sit down for too long so we'll see how I go. Less than 12 weeks till my EDD, about 10 if he comes early like Sean... I can't wait, although I'm guessing it will cut my sewing time back even more!
